OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES FOR ALPHA TRUST’s MUTUAL FUNDS AGAIN IN 2017

ALPHA TRUST’s mutual funds stood out once more in 2017 by recording exceptional performances.
It is worth mentioning that none of ALPHA TRUST’s mutual funds recorded a negative performance in 2017.

For the third consecutive year the Bond Fund – Greece ALPHA TRUST DOMESTIC BOND FUND (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 6th/29.3.1994/7Β) was the top - performer amongst all of ALPHA TRUST’s mutual funds, by recording a 40.61% performance in 2017 (average category performance 26.80%). It should be noted that since the year of the PSI (2012) its performance at 417.11% (average category performance 31.50%) was one of the best globally.

Top performer in the Equity Funds - Global category was the ALPHA TRUST GLOBAL LEADERS FOREIGN EQUITY FUND (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 134th/4.8.1999/6) with a 9.77% performance for 2017, as well as for the three- year and five-year periods by registering performances that stood at 25.79% and 45.55%, consecutively. In the Equity Fund of Funds category, the S&B PENSION GLOBAL EQUITY FUND OF FUNDS (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence:  57/16.06.2010) registered a performance of 8.68% in 2017, while the average category performance stood at 6.00%.

Best performer in the Balanced Fund of Funds category, out of the 31 mutual funds (active in the category) was the ALPHA TRUST ECLECTIC FUND OF FUNDS – BALANCED Mutual Fund (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 191/9.12.2013) by registering a 8.33% performance. The TEA INTERAMERICAN GLOBAL BALANCED FUND OF FUNDS Mutual Fund (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 175/21.6.2013) registered a performance of 5.28%, while the category average stood at (reached a performance of) 1.86%.

Significant end of year performances were also noted by the company’s Balanced Mutual Funds. The Mutual Fund THE ECONOMISTS’ OCCUPATIONAL PENSION BALANCED FUND (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 24/840/16.07.2008) registered a performance of 26.76%, the ΙNTERLIFE BALANCED FUND Mutual Fund (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 62/23.12.2003) of 25.24%, the ALPHA TRUST EUROSTAR BALANCED (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence : 29th/10.1.1995/5) of 23.68%, and  THE OCCUPATIONAL PENSION BALANCED FUND OF POLICE-FIRE-PORT ASSOCIATION Institutional Share Class (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 256/2.6.2016) of 12.07%, all outperforming their benchmarks.

The last year’s performance of the M/F ALPHA TRUST STRATEGIC BOND FUND (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence:196th /11.10.2000/12a) was also satisfactory by registering  2.57% cumulative performance, compared to its average category performance (Bond Fund-Global category) which registered negative performance of -0.34%. The mutual fund’s five-year period annualised performance of 3.81% is also worth mentioning. Second out of 7 mutual funds in the SHORT TERM - MONEY MARKET FUND category was  ranked the ALPHA TRUST EURO MONEY MARKET FUND – SHORT TERM Mutual Fund (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 10th/14.8.1996/4) with a performance of 0.53%.

In the Equity Funds Greece category the ALPHA TRUST HELLENIC EQUITY FUND (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 58th 31.10.1995/6A) and ALPHA TRUST NEW STRATEGY DOMESTIC EQUITY FUND (Hellenic Capital Market Commission Licence: 512/23.8.2007) also recorded significant performances that stood at 22.22% and 17.35% respectively.
