ALPHA TRUST announced its financial results for the annual financial period which ended on 31.12.2014.

According to the published financials, Group turnover stood at € 6.60 million compared to € 6.48 million 2013, up 1.8% mainly due to an expansion in sources of revenue. Group earnings before tax, financing, and investing results were € 1.65 million compared to € 3.67 million in 2013, which included a sum of € 2.08 million from the sale of the operations of the English subsidiary for € 0.38 million in 2014.

Earnings net of tax were € 0.92 million compared to losses of € 0.06 million in 2013.

The company is expanding its scope and has changed its name to ALPHA TRUST Mutual Fund and Alternative Investment Fund Management S.A. and is now in the process of restructuring its operations. In light of the new management changes, the company announced that Mr. Chris Aesopos, a senior executive who has been with ALPHA TRUST since 2001, with 20 year’s professional experience in asset management, is to take up the post of CEO. Mr. Phaedon Tamvakakis remains as company executive Vice Chairman responsible for business development and portfolio management.

Having managed to operate reliably against a difficult, volatile domestic backdrop, ALPHA TRUST has for yet another year been able to increase business, to continue to invest in staff and systems to keep it at the cutting edge of the sector, and to continue to offer top class services to customers and generate returns for shareholders.

A decision about the size of the dividend to be distributed will be taken over the coming months before the General Meeting.

Company Chairman, Mr. David Gibbs, had the following to say: “We are particularly pleased about the company’s encouraging results in such a difficult year for the Greek markets. We hope that the economy will stabilise soon and return to steady growth. I’d also like to congratulate Chris Aesopos who has undertaken to take ALPHA TRUST to even greater things”.

Company Vice Chairman, Mr. Phaedon Tamvakakis, had the following to say: “Chris has the enthusiasm and values that ALPHA TRUST has preserved unchanged for 28 years, and I’m certain that he will rise to the challenge”.
